Easton Wings of Hope recently brought four students from Oliver Ames High School to the CADCA National Leadership Forum in Washington, DC!
During the forum, students attended a variety of sessions focused on substance use prevention. They learned about current substance use trends, policies, and the impact these issues have on communities. In addition, they explored strategies and tools they can bring back to their schools and communities to help educate their peers and promote healthy, substance-free living.
After the sessions, the students joined other youth from Massachusetts for an advocacy day on Capitol Hill. There, they met with aides for Representative Stephen Lynch, Senator Elizabeth Warren, and Senator Ed Markey. The students shared what they are seeing and experiencing in Easton and spoke about why youth substance use prevention is so important to them and their community.
We are incredibly proud of these students for their dedication to learning and for representing Oliver Ames and Easton. We are excited to see they ways they bring back what they have learned to make OA and Easton a better, healthier community.
