What is CADCA?
Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) is a nonprofit organization that is committed to creating safe, healthy and drug-free communities globally. Since 1992, CADCA has demonstrated that when all sectors of a community come together, social change happens.
What is Easton Wings of Hope?
Easton Wings of Hope (EWOH) is the official youth substance use prevention coalition of Easton, MA., and an active member of CADCA. Since its founding in 2015, EWOH envisions a healthy Easton where healthy choices are recognized, valued, and accessible to all. Their mission is to prevent youth substance use through education, raising awareness, and promoting policy change.
What is the National Leadership Forum?
Youth are essential in the coalition building process and bring critical insight to what they are facing in their communities. The National Leadership Forum is an exciting opportunity for youth to develop leadership skills that they can bring back to their communities to make a difference in prevention.
Who should go and why?
This event is open to grades 9-11 and encouraged for students who are interested in public health, mental health, substance use work, etc. and are looking to make an impact in their community.
What can I expect?
You can expect to learn about healthy equity, prevention science, coalition capacity building, policy & advocacy, and sustainability from top experts in the field in an engaging environment, all while developing leadership and networking skills in our nation’s Capitol!
